After discovering the World War II bomb, Hong Kong police forces evacuated thousands of people and then blew it up safely.
Police said the bomb was found at a construction site and 6,000 people fled 18 buildings near nearby buildings at 11 p.m. Friday.

Police did not specify the origin of the bomb in their outposts, but experts believe it is the shell of the United States.
Chi Man Kwong, a professor at Hong Kong Baptist University, told Southern Morning Post that the bomb was likely to have fallen on April 2, 1945, and was attacked by the 531st bombing squadron of the Army Air Force.
“Analysis shows that the squadron’s bomb was placed entirely in the Pan Hoi Street area, which was the Taikoo Sugar refinery at the time,” Mr Kwong told the newspaper.
