Honda and Acura EV owners to gain access to Tesla Superchargers this June | TechCrunch

Honda and its luxury brand Acura will join the growing list of automakers to provide electric vehicle owners with Visit Tesla’s supercharged network In North America.

Starting from June, owners of Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric vehicles will be able to charge at Tesla’s stations. These electric cars are built from CCS charging ports, not the technology Tesla uses. This means that Honda and Acura customers will need to purchase Honda-approved fast charging adapters from dealers. The automaker has not shared the details of the pricing.

Honda says the owners of the Prologue and ZDX will be notified on the Hondalink and Acura EV apps when the adapter is available for purchase. These applications will also show the location of the authorized supercharger position.

Honda agreed to adopt Tesla’s charging standards in 2023, otherwise it is called NACS (North American charging standards). At the time, Honda said it would release a new electric vehicle model built under NACS standards in 2025.

TechCrunch has made an updated schedule with Honda. Other automakers that can use Tesla’s superchargers include Ford, General Motors, Lucid, Rivian, etc.
