After a lot of leaks, Google finally Announce Pixel 9a. There is a good chance you click on this post to understand 9A compared to predecessor. The good news is that you are in the right place. Even better, this is a favorable comparison.
Pixel 9a vs Pixel 8a
For beginners, the Pixel 9a has a new design. Instead of borrowing the design language of Google’s more expensive devices, the new phone has its own identity. Gone are the split camera sticks, which define the recent pixel phone. Instead, the main camera module is almost flush with the back of the phone. In addition, the new phone also provides better entry protection. It is certified for water and dust, from IP67 high on 8A. Pixel 9a will also be available in two cute new colors: iris and peony. Sadly, Google will at least not offer aloe color scheme when it is released this time.
Apart from these changes, the 9a also has a larger 6.3 display. Like the 8A, Google uses an FHD panel, which means the 9A has a slightly smaller screen because it is overall larger. However, this is a better display. The 9A spiral panel is able to achieve peak brightness of 2700 columns, which is higher than the 2,000 columns of 8A. It is also HDR10+ certified with a refresh rate of 120Hz. This extra brightness will make it easier to see the 9A’s screen in bright sunlight.
Inside, the 9A has Google’s latest G4 SOC, which is again paired with 8GB of RAM. Google also equipped the 9A with a larger 5,100mAh battery, up from the 8A’s 4,492mAh. It’s also important that the 9A is able to charge at a faster 23W. It’s still slow compared to devices like the Nothing 3A Pro, which is compatible with a 50W power adapter, but has an improvement on the 8A’s glacier 18W. Oh, if you wish QI2 supportI’m sorry to say that 9A is limited to wireless charging.
As for the camera, Google has not changed its winning formula. The 9A has a 48MP main camera with an f/1.7 lens and optical image stabilization (OIS). On the surface, this seems to be a downgrade from the 8A’s 64MP main sensor, but they both have a pixel pitch of 0.8µm, meaning they are able to capture the same amount of light, and Google seems to have a newer sensor for the 9A. Otherwise, the Pixel 9a appears to have the same Ultrawide and selfie camera as its predecessor. As always, when you buy a pixel phone, you buy it for Google’s computing photography and you get all the usual outstanding performances like night scenes, the best shots, and more.
Pixel 9a vs iPhone 16e, no 3a Pro
this iPhone 16e Confusion continues since its announcement in February. The $599 price is $100 more than the Pixel 9a, and based on hardware alone, Google’s new mid-range phone is a better choice. You’ll get a bigger battery, a 120Hz display and an extra camera throughout. Of course, whether you should buy 9A on 16e depends entirely on your preference for iOS rather than iOS. If you like Apple’s software, the Pixel 9a won’t do it for you.
A more interesting comparison is the new thing about 9a and Nothing Phone 3A Pro. For $40 less, you’ll get a bigger screen, a more original design, and most notably a periscope camera that offers 3x optical zoom. It’s hard to find a great telephoto in this price range, so for this reason alone, the 3A Pro may be worth considering. The trade-off is that Google’s software support is unparalleled, while the 3A Pro has limited warranty in the United States.
