Minister of Defense Pete Hegseth On Tuesday, reporters were involved in issues involving a leaked signal chat group involving Trump administration officials, discussing the upcoming strike in Hotis, Yemen.
In a news report in Hawaii, Heggs was asked about being explained before putting the information in signal chat and whether he was using the messaging platform to discuss operations as sensitive as a strike against Husie on government or personal devices.
Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg said he received a request to join a group chat on March 11 to encrypt messaging service signals, which appears to be Michael Waltz, the president’s national security adviser. Goldberg posted screenshots of some of the information exchanges he observed.
Goldberg reported that officials were discussing a “war plan”, called the “Houthi PC team,” but because of the potential threat to national security and military operations, he decided not to release some of the highly sensitive information he saw, including precise information about weapons packages, goals and timing.

Speaking in Hawaii on Tuesday, Heggs said the strike against the Hus that night was “effective”.
“I am very proud of the courage and skill of the troops. They are in progress and continue to be devastatingly effective,” he said. “The last place I want to be now is the Houthis in Yemen, who wants to destroy freedom of navigation, so the skills and courage of our troops have been fully demonstrated.”
He continued: “This is the opposite of the ruthlessness of the Biden administration.”
The secretary also repeated his statement that “no one was sending a texting plan”, delaying Goldberg’s claim.
“As I said yesterday, no one is planning to send text messages, and that’s what I’m going to say.”
Hegseth claims whether he was in danger, whether he regretted leaking information in the chat under pressure from a reporter, which could have made the U.S. military life, and he claims he has everything under control.
“No one has a texting plan,” he reiterated. “I know exactly what I’m doing, the exact guidance, and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved, the successful mission and going forward that night.”
Goldberg reported that 18 people in the Signal Group were listed as Heggs, Waltz, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

Goldberg reported that Ratcliff also put the name of the CIA secret agent into the signal chat.
The editor described Hergs’ denial as a “lie”, citing the information he read as attacks, human targets, weapon systems and weather reports listing specific times. He also said he was considering whether to post more information to support his report, like Heggs and others Trump administration Officials seek to discredit him.
Hegseth had earlier criticized Goldberg for being “a deceptive, highly discredited, so-called journalist who escaped the profession of fraudsters again and again, including… a scam in Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, or a good person who is a two-sided fraud or a fool and a loser.
But the White House has confirmed that the group chat “seems to be a real link to news.”
“This seems to be a real chain of information and we are reviewing how unintentional numbers are added to the chain,” White House National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said in a statement. “The thread shows a profound and thoughtful policy coordination among senior officials. The ongoing success of the Houthi operation shows that there is no threat to the force or national security.”

Signal chat has been seen as a serious violation of national security, and many point out that senior officials should not discuss detailed Military Plan External special security facilities or protected government communication networks.
Watchdog Group U.S. oversight prosecuted Heggs and other officials in group chats, believing they failed to fulfill their obligations under the Federal Records Act by using signals to communicate and plan aggressive military operations.
