Guidde taps AI to help create software training videos | TechCrunch

Creating company training videos for software can be a time-consuming ordeal, especially if you are an organization with a large number of software licenses. Training videos can help employees speed up, but it’s a big boost. They often bring the entire team to produce.

Tel Aviv-based entrepreneur Yoav Einav believes there may be an alternative way to create software training videos. So he worked with a friend Dan Sahar to try to build it. In 2020, their project became a startup: Guidde.

GUIDDE uses AI to automatically create video clips to guide viewers how to use different applications. It captures the user’s in-app activity and then converts the recording into a video with a “storyline.”

Videos created by GUIDDE can optionally use the desired language, background music and tags to emphasize key aspects of the software application’s functionality. GUIDDE also provides basic video editing tools with effects such as motion transitions, frame timing adjustments, and cropping.

You might be wondering: Are people actually watch Training video? This is a fair question. according to In the 2019 Kultura survey, 67% of employees admitted not giving full attention to internal training videos, but browsing videos or listening to them while doing other things.

Einav believes this is a two-pronged question. He said training videos are usually not very compelling – the production quality is not particularly high. Most importantly, these videos are often buried in difficult interfaces.

That’s why Guidde has dipped his toes into video suggestions in recent months, launching a feature called Guidde Broadcast that provides personalized content to employees of the company. Einav describes it as “the organization’s Netflix,” a way to drive software engagement by providing context, “instant” training content in user workflows.

Guidde’s growth trajectory is stable, with revenue quadrupled in the past 12 months, according to Einav. The company’s platform now serves more than 100,000 users in 2,000 organizations, including the American Eagle Outfitters (Carta) and Nasdaq.

This month, 35 employees Guidde received $15 million in new funding in a round led by Qualcomm Ventures. Einav said that bringing the startup’s total raised to $30 million, the new cash will be used to expand Guidde’s localization tools, corporate sales and customer success teams, and global markets.

“We have been able to survive the storm so far and continue to take a conservative and modest attitude towards our financial situation, a strategy that has proven effective so far,” he added. “We believe the future lies in a solution,” he said. Solutions seamlessly combine highly engaging AI-driven and video-first content creation and delivery. Our goal is to lead this emerging category and set the standard for an intelligent, immersive content experience.”
