The idea of mortality has crossed the idea of Wealth as he sees many band members pass.
Despite living a life full of music and memories, Will’s emotions are not a fear, but acceptance.

“Every day, things change. I’ll say this: I look forward to death,” Weir, 77, told 2018 Rolling stones.
“I tend to see death as the last and best reward for life’s fulfillment. That’s it. There’s still a lot on my plate and I’m not going to be ready for a while.”

Weal showed no sign of slowing down, but he witnessed several deaths of band members, including bassist Phil Lesh and guitarist Jerry Garcia.
“I hope…well, Phil is in the eighties.
Lesh is one of the founding members. Died in October 2024. He is 84 years old.

When Weir joined the band at the age of 16, he was the “little brother” of gratitude for death.
According to the Rolling Stones, in 1963, he met Garcia in Palo Alto, California.
Will is one of the few remaining members of the band along with drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann.

Before Lesh’s death, four band members discussed reunion to mark the 60th anniversary of the rock band this year. Weir is now uncertain about the band party since Lesh’s death.
“We speak language where no one else speaks,” Will explains. “We communicate, kick things back and forth, and then make our little statements in more general language.”

He continued: “For us, it’s a look or action of a shoulder, or the way you reflect a sentence, or something from someone else you’re going to. Then, they’re committed to where you’re heading and there’s something for you. It’s very effective for us, and we’re not enough now.”
But this month, Will returned to Las Vegas for 18 shows in Sphere and another death with company residency in Las Vegas.
“That’s what I’m going to do,” he said. “That’s what I’m here for.”

Meanwhile, in October 2024, Lesh’s death was confirmed on his official Instagram page.
His social media read at the time: “Phil brought great joy to everyone around him, leaving behind a legacy of music and love.”

Lesh and Garcia first met in 1959, and after reconnecting in 1964, Garcia invited Lesh to join the group, then called the Warlock. According to Rolling Stone, Garcia asked Lesh to play a bass guitar he had never done before.
