Fox Nation’s “Meet the American” has returned to season 2, with Bill Hemmer, co-host of “American Newsroom” showing part of the story that makes America great.
Each episode highlights their lasting imprint of American culture by their ideas, perseverance or innovative individuals – in the new season, the entire episode focuses on the Big Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to the George D. Hay Society, a native of Indiana, served in the U.S. Army during World War I before moving to Tennessee.
He was called the “sovereign old judge” and this was the news role he used when he was printing journalists at the local court in Mephcover.
Until today, he will be remembered as the Grand Ole Opry created 100 years ago, according to Opry’s website.

Opry became so popular that the broadcast moved to the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville in 1943. Opry then built his own theater and country music campus in 1974 about 10 miles east of downtown.
The brand name of the phenomenon comes from hay, and comes from a big step in inspiration.

Hay announced in December 1927: “For the past hour, we have been listening to the music of the big opera, but from now on we will show the big ole opry.”
The name stuck – and continues to be a timeless show, live show, location and brand.

Hay, known for launching careers as country idols like Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, George Jones, consolidated Opry as the key to country music.
Home to a country legend and rising stars, Opry now has nearly 4,400 seating capacity and has over 30 sections.

According to Guinness World Records, Opry is the longest broadcast on the planet.
