Google Announce Children using Android phones can now pay in stores using Google Wallet in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain and Poland on Wednesday. Parents and guardians in these countries can now allow their children to receive digital payments on their Android devices under supervision.
Kids can also use Google Wallet to access supported passes such as event tickets, library cards, and gift cards.
Google notes that payment cards can only be added with parental consent, and parents receive an email whenever their children make transactions. Additionally, parents can use Google’s parental control app Family Link to track their children’s recent purchases, delete payment cards and turn off access to their passes.
It is worth noting that children will not be able to pay for online purchases using Google Wallet.

First, a child and his parents need to navigate to the wallet app on their child’s Android phone and then click “Add to Wallet” at the bottom left of the screen. Then, they need to select the “Payment Card” option and click “New Credit or Debit Card”.
The app will then prompt parents to confirm that they are parents by logging into their Google account. They can then add a credit or debit card. Once you do this, your child can start using the wallet app for in-store purchases.
The release is not surprising, just like Google Announce The feature will be introduced this spring last month. Google didn’t comment when asked about plans to expand functionality to more regions.
With today’s announcement, Google is catching up with Apple, which has allowed children to make in-store purchases through its use of Apple Pay Apple Cash Family Serve.
