Keeping top AI talent is tough in the competition between Google, OpenAI and other heavyweights.

Some payments during this period involve long PTOs. However, this approach can make researchers feel that they do not rule out the rapid pace of AI progress.
In the United States, FTC banned most non-competitive last yearbut this does not apply to DeepMind’s London headquarters.

Google did not respond to a request for comment from TechCrunch, but told BI that it used non-competitively “selectively”.
