An unusual player has been changed by Green in PGA National on Thursday afternoon, but a quick thinking golfer that turns it off before it ruins.
Billy Horchel is facing an alligator in palm palm gardens, Florida. After the reptile was blown his game, Horchel took 60-degree wedge to focus it on its shoulder and then guided it with water, according to The video shared by Paul Hodowanic’s social media, a staff writer for pgatour.com.
“That was a gator to get a gator,” someone heard talking on the video background. Horchel plays Golf at College for the University of Florida Gators.
Horschel just finished the sixth pavement of PGA National, He said in the hodowanic posted video.
Horchel to the seventh hole when he saw that the alligator headed green. A nearby officer attempted to withdraw alligator but no luck.
Horschel knows the options: he can wait for someone to get a rake in the hole in eight and goes back to getting a club to himself to try to put on the animal.
So Horschel took the club, knowing that the officer needed help and Gator “goes well,” said Heschel.
“I mean, I’m not afraid of the gates,” Horchel said. “Listen, as I told most of the people, I say they are afraid of you. The majority of time, they will only come when they have a nest time when you have some eggs.”
Maybe the Horchel wasn’t afraid of Gator, but he was afraid of his club. He said he took a 60-degree wedge because he knew he had two extras in his locker.
“I grew up with my father who took their tails when they were on the side of the bank and shaking the water,” Horchel said. “I never touched the tail with my hands, but I made it to a club, so that’s not that big of a deal.”
Horschel shooting ends 5-under 66 for the first round of the tournament.
