General Motors, the largest automaker in the United States, has expanded its partnership with NVIDIA to develop autonomous vehicles and enhance vehicle manufacturing through simulation and accelerated computing.
In GTC 2025, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced that GM and NVIDIA are collaborating with next-generation vehicles, factories and robots using AI, simulation and accelerated computing.
These companies will work together to build custom AI systems using NVIDIA accelerated computing platform, including NVIDIA OMNIVERSE and NVIDIA Universetrain AI manufacturing models to optimize GM’s factory planning and robotics technology. General Motors will also use it NVIDIA DRIVE AGX For on-board hardware, for future advanced driver assistance systems and safe driving experiences in the cab.
Huang said in his keynote that Envidia is very focused on the safety of self-driving cars. He noted that 7 million lines of code for such cars in NVIDIA have proven to be safe.

General Motors has been investing in the NVIDIA GPU platform to train AI models in various fields, including simulation and verification. The partnerships of these companies are now expanding to transform the design and operation of automotive plants.
General Motors will use NVIDIA OMNIVERSE Create a platform for digital twin assembly lines, allowing virtual testing and production simulation to reduce downtime. This work will include training on robotics platforms already used in operation, such as material handling and transportation, and precision welding, to improve manufacturing safety and efficiency.
GM will also build next-generation vehicles based on Nvidia Drive AGX Nvidia Blackwell Construction and operational safety certification Nvidia Driveos Operating System. This on-board computer can provide up to $100 trillion in operation per second, which can accelerate the development and deployment of secure AVs.
