A Georgia man sentenced to 12 years in jail for cheating millions of dollars from potential potential Basketball Hall.
Three-time defensive player of the year Dwight Howard testified in court that he gave Calvin Darden Jr. WNBA’s Atlanta Dream.
Howard was an eight-time All-Star selection and then learned that Darden was not the team’s owner when ESPN reported that the team had been sold to the Investor Group.

Darden and the sports agent also invited former NBA player Chandler Parsons to send $1 million, which should have helped the development of James Wiseman, who was selected by the Golden State Warriors as the second pick in the 2020 NBA draft, prosecutors said.
But the two didn’t know Wiseman, and the player never agreed to be represented by the agent. Wiseman played for the Indiana Pacers for the last time before being traded to the Toronto Raptors, who gave up on him earlier this year.
A federal court judge in Manhattan ordered Darden to confiscate $8 million on Thursday, and he earned several luxury goods with his rude gains, including a $3.7 million Atlanta mansion, $600,000 artwork from Jean-Michel-Michel Basquiat, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce.

Darden was convicted by a jury in October on allegations of telegraph fraud, bank fraud and money laundering.
He was previously sentenced to a New York federal prison for pretending to be his father, Cal Darden, and a former executive of the Atlanta-based United Parcel Service, who failed to buy Maxim Magazine.
