The Federal Trade Commission asked a Seattle verdict to delay the start of its attempted Amazon In doubling consumers to sign up for its main program, quoting resource restrictions.
Lawyers for the FTC make a hearing status on Wednesday before Judge John Cun in the US district court for Western District in Washington. Chun sets on a September 22 start date for the test.

“We lost employees of the agency, our division and our case team,” Cohen said.
Chun asks Cohen how the FTC status “varies in two months” if the agency “in the crisis today, to resources.” Cohen responded by saying that he “cannot guarantee if things are not worse.” He pointed out the likelihood that the FTC could have to move to another office “unexpectedly,” which prevents the ability to prepare for the test.
“But there is a lot of reason to believe … can be through it, at least for a while,” Cohen said.
John Hueston, a lawyer for Amazon, argued with Cohen’s request to restore the test date.
“This call has not shown that the government has no resources to continue to try the test date as it is now set,” said Hueston. “What I heard is that they’ve got the entire test team. There may be a movement of the office. And on the way, in the way of the government and private sector more than a few days breaking.”
The ftc Sued Amazon On June 2023, the online dealer was cheating millions of customers signed for the main program and sabotaging their attempts to cancel it.
