Due to ongoing restrictions, Huawei does not officially sell its products in the United States. Too bad, because the company is bringing great things Apple Watch Series 11 Instead of the rest of the world, it can sell its equipment. The company’s latest Watch GT 6 Pro is a solid all-around smartwatch that promises deep health and sports tracking as well as strong battery life. These features are all wrapped up in advanced design designs.
I’ve been using the watch around my home in Edinburgh, Scotland for the past few days and I must say, I love it. I’m not usually a smartwatch user, but I enjoyed putting it on my wrist this week and I’ll likely continue to use it and see how I’ve developed it.
The Watch GT 6 Pro is available in the UK for £329, and the base model costs £229. Then comes the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, which has most of the same tracking features as well as additional diving technology – including the ability to wear using Sonar at a depth of 150 meters with Sonar and send messages to other watch Ultimate 2 models. Ultimate 2 will cost much more, but there is no exact pricing at the time of writing. For reference, the price of £329 is converted to $449.
The body and baffle have an angle design that I like.
There are several reasons why I like using the GT 6 Pro so far, so let’s take a closer look.
Comfortable design
First of all, it’s actually very comfortable. The included rubber strap is very soft and naturally forms my wrists, and its 46mm round display is not that big to be clumsy. I often don’t just because I don’t like the feeling of it, but I find it physically inconspicuous.

Apart from being in bed, that’s it. I still despise anything on my wrist when I try to fall asleep – I even put my wedding ring next to the bedside because I find it offensive. This is a problem for me and the watch, because it means I have to give up any type of sleep analysis. Like most smartwatches, sleep tracking is a major part of its functionality. Maybe one day I will find out I can wear what I can do on the bed.
Rubber strap makes wearing comfortable.
Health and fitness tracking
Speaking of tracking, watches can track various data points to help you achieve your fitness goals or just maintain a healthy lifestyle. In addition to the usual heart rate and ladder counters, it will track SP02, skin temperature and CE certified pulse waves without infection analysis features.
Huawei has the GT 6 Pro with new bike tracking metrics, including real-time gradient tracking and virtual power metrics, which the company says is the first time that such a feature has been seen on a smartwatch. It also has deeper ski tracking (including automatic ski detection) and deeper golf metrics for those who like to spend time on flower clubs hitting the ball on the turf.
Huawei believes it has significantly improved the accuracy of the GPS to better track your running routes while its new wheelchair mode counts wheel rotation instead of steps, and uses different algorithms to track calories burned.
The display is bright enough to be used outdoors.
I haven’t used the health tracking feature yet, so I can’t comment on how they perform for an Apple Watch or any other device. Actually, the smart feature I like most is just being able to view incoming notifications on iPhone. Of course, it’s a simple task, but that’s the main reason I like to wear a smartwatch on regular scale watches.
Speaking of which, the watch will work with iOS or Android. I paired it with the iPhone 16 Pro using the beta version of Huawei’s Health App, which provides a dashboard for all collected metrics and workouts. I don’t.
Battery life
Huawei believes the GT 6 Pro will be in “Lite” mode or a typical 12-day battery power for about 12 days. It’s a crazy saying, even surpassing the Apple Watch Series 11, which can get stuck after a day and a half of regular use.
I actually believe this statement, though – I’ve used Huawei’s first generation watch Ultimate Ultimate (as a smart timepiece, not a fitness tracker), and its battery can easily last a week between charges. Still, 12 days is a big proposition and I look forward to testing it when I spend more time on my watch.
