Serve Will be launched in the pilot market In the United States later this year. The two companies said the orders will be delivered to customers “within minutes while reducing traffic congestion and emissions.”
A Flytrex representative said the company did not know when the service will be officially launched or in which region. On the cost of customers, a Uber Eats spokesman said the previous Uber Eats drone delivery “no price difference between delivery of robots or couriers.”
Flytrex Delivery has been conducted in select communities across the United States, including North Carolina, Texas and other regions. Uber has tried air food twice before. Working with McDonald’s, “Uber Elevate” had some test delivery in 2020, but the plan disappeared. Later, Uber tried an unmanned aerial system with vertical takeoff and landing. The delivery model is able to serve meals to two people, but Uber has not continued the program due to undisclosure.
