Costco Recalls Prosecco That Could Shatter, Even Without Being Touched

If you recently purchased a bottle of Prosecco at Costco, check the brand now. The large warehouse club retail chain has recalled the Kirkland signature Prosecco valdobbiadene of certain bottles, reporting that the bottles may break without being touched.

The letter asked the customer not to return the bottle to the Costco store, but to bring the letter to the store for a refund. For safety reasons, Costco says you should wrap an unopened bottle in a tissue, then put it in a plastic bag, and then put the bag in a trash can.

The company did not say whether any consumers were harmed by the bottle. Costco’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.
