Until further proven, telepathy is still a science fiction novel. But a new wearable Announced this week It aims to bring the world closer to silent communication, although it uses brain signals more than the X-Men superpowers.
AlterGo, by MIT Media Labis a peripheral neural interface that enables us to talk to machines, AI assistants and humans without using our voices or observable actions.
We saw first AlterGo As a prototype for 2018. It’s wearable, tied to the face from the ear to the chin. Since then, it has become smaller and more features.
The device works by detecting signals, and the brain sends out before speaking loudly. The new wearable device is powered by a technology called the “silent sense” that can detect the full range of voice of its wearer, including when introducing words or intending to speak. Alterego’s generative AI then responds, and these communications are sent to users through bone conduction speakers.
While it cannot capture ideas, the company describes Alterego as “the world’s first nearly doubtful wearable facility that keeps silent communication at the speed of thought.” It’s not telepathy, but by explaining your inner voice, which is a step towards words.
Introduction to AlterGo: the world’s first near-pregnant wearable device that makes silent communication at the speed of thought.
Altergo makes AI an extension of human mind.
We have made some breakthroughs since our work at MIT began.

AlterGo has an embedded camera system that allows you to point at what you see and silently ask about it. In the demo video, CEO Arnav Kapur circled the face of the character on the postcard, asked who it was (not talking), and received detailed information about the character.

You can also use wearable settings to set reminders without permission to port and enter the device, all imagine as quickly as possible.
It gets even more fun when two different people wear the device. You can keep silent conversations with each other and even convert your message into another language for the recipient. Since AlterGo uses your brain signals and oral movements to detect what you want to say, communication is not affected by external sounds or actions.
The device may also prove to be a huge medical victory as it can restore speeches from people who have lost their current status due to illness or other obstacles.
Alterego believes this is just the beginning, it is “building a future for humans and artificial intelligence to collaborate at the speed of thought, bridging the gap between thought and machines”.
