Apple unveils new Airpods Pro 3 during its period “Awesome” events Tuesday. The latest iteration of Pro Earpods improves noise removal, translates other languages in real time, better, clearer sound quality and waterproofing, so it can handle your sweatiest workouts. However, the latest great feature of the AirPods Pro is its ability to read heart rate using a small sensor implanted in the headset.
This means that during your daily walk or exercise, your AirPods will be able to capture your heart rate using a unique infrared light sensor and a new on-device AI model that tracks the heart rate and calories burned. All this data will be tracked in Apple’s fitness app.
In addition, the new AirPods will also give you access to your workout partner, a fitness feature that uses Apple Intelligence to collect your fitness data, fitness history, and more to personalize your workout experience. So if you are going for a walk or running, these Airpods will work like coaches, inspiring you during the workout. If you are already an Apple Fitness Plus member, you can use these AirPods to view your real-time performance metrics such as heart rate, burning calories, burning rods and turning off the mobile ring on the screen.
I was surprised by the addition of heart rate sensors, as these types of sensors are often used on wearable devices around the wrist, e.g. Apple Watchor as a smart ring. However, this does make me wonder how accurate or synced the data would be if someone had both the AirPods Pro 3 and the Apple Watch. Since both can record your workouts, it will be fun to see how it works when people use them in the real world.
this Apple Airpods Pro 3 is now available for pre-order It will be available on Friday, September 19th. Pricing starts at $249 (£219, AU $429).
