Hollow Knight: Silk It’s not an easy game, but this difficulty is one of the reasons fans love it. Some of the fan base may even find this too easy, for them, the developer team Cherry has added the most famous cheat code to the game, although it doesn’t give you 30 lives.
Famous Konami codefamous for its inclusion in NES Game Contra, does silkbut this makes the game more difficult and not easy. The secret was discovered shortly after the game was released on Thursday Silksong subreddit. Variants of the code can be entered in the additional section of the title screen to unlock the Steel Soul mode in the new playback. The description of the unlock mode says: “No resurrection. Death is permanent.”
The Secret Steel Soul Mode is not for the faint of heart.
As the description suggests, Iron Soul is a pattern, meaning that once you die, it ends and the savings are erased. Given how difficult it is for Silk Knight veterans even for Silk veterans, this option does work for those who want the highest challenge. It appears in the original Hollow Knight, an optional setting provided after defeating the game, but Silksong players only need to press a few buttons on the menu screen to unlock.
The code required to unlock steel mode in the additional section of the title screen is up, down, down, down, down, down, left, right, left, right. For the console, you need to use the DPAD of the corresponding controller, while the PC needs to use the controller DPAD or the arrow keys on the keyboard. There are no other buttons to press and the screen will flash when entered correctly. To activate the new difficulty option, exit the Extras screen, select “Start the game”, select a new game, and take you to the Mode Select Section screen, and now you can use Steel Soul.
The Konami code was originally used in Gradius, a company-made shooter of the filming ’em Up game and released in 1986. The complete code is to go up, up, up, up, down, down, left, left, left, left, left, right, B, A and program on the controller and test the game through developer Kazuhisa Hashimoto and can easily test the player and add it to the game. Hashimoto mistakenly left the code in the NES game, eventually discovered by American players
The Konami code is mainly because it used its use in the 1987 NES, which brought the player’s 30-year-old life to the game. Technology companies, e.g. Google and Facebook Over the years, code has also been used as Easter eggs for different services.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is now available on PC, Switch, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PS4 and PS5. It is also available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
