The increased socially driven categories in recent years have brought lunar trophy to lesser-known virus artists and internet favorites, opening up competition for almost anyone.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by LL Cool J and hosted by speakers and performers. Names on the roster include Brittany Snow, Ciarra, Busta Rhyme, Sabrina Carpenter, Ricky Martin and KPOP Demon Hunter Stars Audrey Nuna, Ejae and Rei Ami. Fans of the group will also be happy to know that their hit single has been nominated for the summer song.
The biggest award of the night, Artist of the Year, includes some of the most powerful names in music, as nominees: Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. The annual video features seven nominees, including heavy hitters like Lamar, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Billy Erish. Meanwhile, Mariah Carey will be on stage as this year’s Video Pioneer Award winner, performing a series of careers. Carey also has new music on the way – her upcoming album dropped later this month, with her singles nomination for Best R&B.
Fans can express their voices by voting Voting.mtv.combut the vote is now closed. Artists like Alex Warren, Doechii, Leon Thomas, Blake Shelton, Brent Faiyaz and Katseye also earned honors for several different categories of honors.
