The MTV Video Music Awards are back, with fans having the opportunity to vote for their favorite nominees in 19 categories, including Best Collaboration, Best New Artist, Best Orchestration, and coveted video of the year. In recent years, the increase in socially driven categories has opened the door to viral artists and internet favorites, making the competition wider than ever.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by LL Cool J and hosted by speakers and performers. Names on the roster include Brittany Snow, Ciarra, Busta Rhyme, Sabrina Carpenter, Ricky Martin and KPOP Demon Hunter Stars Audrey Nuna, Ejae and Rei Ami. The group fans are also happy to know about their hit singles Golden Nominated for a summer song.
The biggest award of the night, Artist of the Year, includes some of the most powerful names of music: Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Ryder Gaga and Taylor Swift. The annual video features seven nominees, including hard hitters like Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Billie Eilish. Meanwhile, Mariah Carey will be on stage as this year’s Video Pioneer Award winner, performing a series of careers. Carey also has new music on the way – her upcoming album drops later this month, her single Type hazard Nominated for Best R&B.
Fans can express their voices by voting Voting.mtv.com Until 6 p.m. ET. Artists such as Alex Warren, Doechii, Leon Thomas, Blake Shelton, Brent Faiyaz and Katseye have also received honors in several different categories.
