The biggest game for next week or weeks is the long-awaited indie sequel you might have heard of: Hollow Knight Silk. After years of anticipation, the game suddenly fell like a magic homecoming gift.
While it works for many platforms including Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, I had the opportunity to play silk for about an hour in the upcoming hour Asus Rog Xbox Ally X Handheld gaming is a Windows-based game handheld handheld that promises better support than Microsoft’s game libraries and services Previous Windows handheld Provided.
It’s a large handheld, but the Xbox Ally X feels comfortable.
CNET already knows Check out Roger Allies X In person, a complete review is performed when the hardware is Launched in October. I haven’t even seen the operating system in the device or Microsoft’s new extra secret seasonings that might make things better and potentially give the device an advantage in handheld space. All I did was play some silk, which was a game that didn’t require much processing power at all. Like the hollow knight, silk takes you into the underworld of an underground maze and charming but dangerous bug characters, finding secret switches and doors that can be opened on the way forward, the right way forward.
Silksong looks as cute as the previous Hollow Knight game, and I can’t wait to wander around and discover its secret (actually go back to play Hollow Knight!). But I’m more focused on the Ally X’s controls, which are as generous and comfortable as an Xbox gaming controller.
The Ally X’s button layout makes sense, and the simulation stick is solid-not too stiff, not too loose. The trigger placement feels right. And, while the handheld size is large, it is not too heavy (the Ally X weighs 715 grams compared to the 640 grams of steam deck OLED). Anyway, I’m used to the large gaming handheld handheld handheld handheld, which has been spending years on the steam deck and now adapting to the larger ones Nintendo Switch 2.
I love the D-Pad and Analog Sticks, as well as the entire button layout.
I was also impressed by the touch on the boat, which seemed to rumble in a subtle way, which felt very organic to the game – in this case, giving me a little vibration when hitting (or being hit) the enemy with a sword of a silk hard sword. The entire handheld feels as comfortable as any regular console controller experience, and like many PC handheld handsets, I found the controls feel better than the Switch 2 – I didn’t press the shoulder buttons like I did on the Switch 2, and the responsive stick and sturdy grip are also useful for quick movement. Also, D-Pad is a great way to play.
But Xbox Ally and Ally X will eventually change the handheld landscape of Windows gaming, offering something like what’s really expected Xbox handheldor is this a stepping stone to a better stone in the future? I have no idea. But I’m as curious as anyone else, especially now that Switch 2 has opened up a bigger door to the possibility of a graphics-enhanced next-generation handheld handheld.
