weekly, Netflix Reveal its top ten list, with the most rankings Movie and TV Shows. One of the biggest global hits for streaming in the week from February 24 to March 2 is the British Theatre Toxic Town, a real-life story about a group of mothers who have caused congenital defects in their children in their town. The show co-star Aimee Lou Wood, who also starred in the new season of White Lotus, and now seems to have a well-deserved moment.
White Lotus is currently in the middle of Max’s third season and always features an outstanding ensemble of actors. The show usually makes rich prototype vapid and self-absorb, but this season, one of the best roles on the show is Chelsea, a bubble astrology enthusiast from Manchester, England, played by Wood. Chelsea is an Aries dating older Rick (Walton Goggins) who is as mysterious as a personal demon. Wood’s Chelsea also showed incredible performances by Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey and Natasha Rothwell in a show, with his openness and optimism standing out. These traits are also her role as Aimee Gibbs in Netflix’s sex education, showing great performances in her first internationally recognized show.
The worst part of an ensemble performance like White Lotus is that characters like Chelsea don’t have the screen time we want. But fans of wood can turn to toxic towns.
The show will premiere on February 27, and is the number one on Netflix, the UK (No. 4 in the world). Kobe’s toxic waste casesome people call it the story of the British “Irene Brokovic”. Wood plays the mother with two other powerful actors, Claudia Jessie of Bridgeton and Jodie Whittaker of Doctor Who, because their children were born with birth defects as one of the worst toxic waste scandals in British history. The four-episode limited series is a departure from Wood, whose other television projects often make the most of their subtle comedic talents, but in the toxic town she offers a shocking performance as Tracey Taylor is a mother who grieves the death of her newborn baby.
The fact that Wood appeared on both shows, both of which were one of the most watched series on the platform this week (White Lotus ranked No. 1 on Max), and it offers two completely different but equally excellent performances that will surely give her a moment.
The poisonous town is now out, with White Lotus airing on Sunday on HBO and Max. And if you haven’t seen Wood in Great Sex Education, all five seasons of the show are on Netflix, and you can also catch her in the miniseries Alice & Jack (by PBS passport) and movie life (Main video), a historical drama she co-stars with Bill Nighy.
