Beautyrest Hi Loft Air Mattress: Beautyrest Hi Loft Twin Air mattress comes with an insert electric pump that screws the screws onto the mattress. Once connected, it expands the mattress in about 2 minutes, although not as complete as I wanted. After inflation, you need to quickly unscrew the pump and replace the valve cover. This is not the most elegant solution.
The Beautyrest Air mattress has the same hot dog design as the Bestway Air Bed and is the unstable feeling of a pool buoy. (Many companies that make air mattresses also make inflatable pools and pool accessories. Go see.) It lacks the stability of other air mattresses, and I’m almost lying too far on one side.
Remember that if you are tall, it may not be the best air mattress for you. Simmons lists its dimensions at 80 x 60 x 17 inches, but my size makes it close to 76 inches in length, meaning anyone above 6 feet will likely hang on the end. The mattress is softer than other vinyl construction, making it easier to roll up and fold into compact shapes for storage.
Bestway air mattress: The miniature of the cheap air mattress, the double air bed is compact, lightweight and relatively fast, and can be inflated by its integrated pump.
On the downside, this air mattress is available in only one size and is uncomfortable at all. It’s on 12-inch-high ground and the pump isn’t enough to fill it with expansion, so it can soften the ride. The tubular design gives it the look of a pack of hot dogs, while that elevated horizontal hot dog is designed to be approximately the pillow stationary, making the mattress askw ask which makes it even more unstable.
The Bestway Air bed has a lot of negative reviews on Walmart (Walmart.com) that quotes slow air leaks, fast air leaks, burst seams, spontaneous bubbles and horrible customer service (and dozens of very positive reviews). While Bestway’s ridiculous manufacturer’s warranty doesn’t instill confidence, the warranty here is not a critical consideration given the price. Still, Walmart’s policy states that most products can be fully refunded within 90 days.
