MacBook Air finally catches up MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. Apple announced Wednesday that its 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models have been upgraded to its M4 processor. The iPad Pro was the first Apple device to receive M4 treatment in May last year, and MacBook Pro follows Near the end of last year. Now you can get Apple’s latest silicon in the most affordable laptops – and it’s better than that Previous M3 air.

$999 air is back
Apart from the processor upgrade, another big news is the $999 price starts on the MacBook Air. The last MacBook Air released at a triple-digit price is the 2020 M1 Air. The M2 Air starts at $1,199 and the M3 Air starts at $1,099, so we’ve been trending to The price of the M4 is $999but I’m happy to finally come back. With Apple’s education discounts, students can get the M4 Air for $899.
M4 MacBook Air started with UK £999 and Australia $1,699.
The 15-inch M4 MacBook Air is also $100 cheaper than the previous M3 version. It starts at $1,199 – or $1,099 for education pricing.
M4 processor and sky blue
The $999 MacBook Air comes with an M4 processor that has 10 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores, 16GB RAM and 256GB solid-state drives. The 16GB minimum memory isn’t new – Apple raised it from a meager 8GB RAM to coincide with the launch of the M4 MacBook Pro last fall – but it’s still appreciated, especially with the new lower starting price. But 256GB SSD? sigh. I think we’ll have to wait at least another year until Apple offers a 512GB SSD with the basic configuration of the MacBook Air. 256GB drives quickly fill, Apple!
The $1,199 upgraded model includes a 512GB SSD, while also providing more GPU cores using its M4 chip. The $1,399 configuration allows you to have up to 24GB of RAM.

Apple didn’t introduce any design changes to the M4 MacBook Air, but it does introduce a new color option – Sky Blue. This metallic light blue replaces space gray. The other three colors – midnight, silver and starlight – keep the air.
