Martha Stewart Jokes About Katy Perry, Gayle King All-Female Blue Origin Flight

All-female staff, including pop singer Katy Perry, briefly headed to the space for an 11-minute flight on Monday. The subsequent criticism lasted longer. And it keeps coming.

Lifestyle expert Martha Stewart released a video of her own 2007 zero-gravity flight on a Boeing 727 called G-Force One, using the title to quote a hit by Perry.

On a video of Stewart doing a zero-gravity flip, the title is: “Did you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting in the wind?” That’s the line from Perry’s first hit song Firework in 2010.

Stewart’s Instagram account also posted: “If you get out in 2007, Martha has been ahead of her time.”

Perry, writer and former journalist Lauren Sanchez, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, biological astronautics research scientist Amanda Nguy, film producer Kerianne Flynn and CBS host Gayle succeeded on Blue Origin NS-31 Flying This week.

The crew rolled to the launch pad of the Livia electric truck and took the elevator to board the crew capsule. Sanchez’s fiancé’s Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos personally escorted them to the Rockets. The flight lasted about 11 minutes. Perry sang a wonderful world during the flight, despite the choppy audio that made it sometimes hard to hear these women during the live broadcast.

This is the first all-female space flight since 1963 Soviet astronaut Valentina Tereshkova’s historic Solo Space Flight. Tereshkova is the first woman in space.

Bezos, waiting for the crew of the landing site to say hello, apparently stepped on a small hole and fell almost landing on his face. Social media replays over and over again.

Criticize and defend flights

Criticism even started before women took off. On the Today Show on April 3, actor Olivia Munn announced the event.

“There are so many other things that are so important in the world right now.” Meng En said in the performance. “What’s the point? Is it historic for you to go on a bike? I think it’s a little gluttonton.”

For some reason, the fast food chain Wendy’s is known for its witty tweets, aiming after Perry landed. First, Wendy’s tweet, “able Do we send her back? ”

The same is true for the company Tweet After returning to Earth, Perry kissed the ground and captioned it, “I kissed the ground, I love it.” (Perry’s 2008 song, I kissed a girl with it, “I kissed a girl, I love it.”)

Then, when another X user asked, “She was only there for 10 minutes, right?” Wendy’s account pair: “Don’t change her briefly for 11 minutes.”

But women defend their flight.

“I won’t let you steal our joy, but most people are really excited and cheering us on and realizing what this mission means for young women, young girls and boys,” Kim said in a press conference after returning.

Aerospace engineer Bowe defended the scientific part of the trip.

“We are advanced science today,” Ball said. “More and more people will be able to do meaningful research in blue sources because we collect data. It’s not just plant biology – we look at human physiology, we contribute to the knowledge base people know about women. … We are now inspiring the world.”

The debate on representative space is underway. For example, everyone agrees that the ISS is located in space, but commercial rocket rides running in blue origin fell into the gray area. One benchmark is the Karman Line, a dotted line that is 62 miles beyond the surface of the Earth.

NASA Meet “There is indeed no clear boundary between where the Earth’s atmosphere ends and the beginning of outer space,” but most scientists recognize the karma line as a transition point in space. So, unless you want to make a picky argument, Perry and the others made a brief visit during the flight.

After the spacecraft passed the karma line, women experienced weightlessness. The return trip involves a mild parachute assisting the landing.

This is the 11th human flight planned by the new Shepard. Blue Origin has previously flew 52 people into space, including Star Trek William ShatnerAmerican Good Morning hosts Michael Strahan and Bezos.
