There are many reasons to choose one MacBook Pro via MacBook Air. For most people, it is getting improved performance from the M4 Pro or M4 Max chip. For others, its display has more displays, with a 14.2-inch panel on smaller models, and 13.6-inch, or 16.2-inch to 15.3-inch on larger MacBooks. For others, it can be selected with an additional lightning port as well as an HDMI connection and an SDXC card slot.
My main laptop It’s one 14-inch MacBook Probut I really don’t need a relative performance. Reviewed new 15-inch MacBook Air M4I’m almost ready to swap my 14-inch pros for 15-inch air. I like the thinner air, slightly lighter design and a larger display. But one thing made me back. One feature unique to MacBook Pro is that I’m afraid I’ll miss the MacBook Air that was originally more suitable for me on the MacBook Air. I’m not sure if there is no promotion display to live (and scroll).

Show differences
The MacBook Air’s liquid retina is a great laptop display. It’s bright and sharp, with accurate color. But this is not the liquid retina XDR display you get with your MacBook Pro. The 1,600-NIT liquid retina display on the MacBook Pro is much brighter than the MacBook Air’s 500-NIT liquid retina display and is bright enough for HDR content editing. My occasional video editing project does not involve HDR video or go beyond Imovie, so I’m willing to leave the extended dynamic range of XDR displays to the realm of MacBook Pro.
The MacBook Pro showcase also has higher resolution and pixel counts per inch, but the MacBook Air’s resolution shows very clear pictures with enough pixels. So, I don’t ask for a higher resolution than the MacBook Air model currently offers.
But with the amount of scrolling I do, what I want is the faster refresh rate you get on the pros. Apple marks it as a promotion and offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This means it can refresh its image 120 times per second to make the movement smoother. With the help of air, the display refreshes with a steady refresh of 60 times per second.
The MacBook Pro’s promotional display has twice the refresh rate than the MacBook Air.
When I tested the new 15-inch MacBook Air, I looked next to the 14-inch MacBook Pro. From this side-by-side comparison, I noticed that the movement is smoother when scrolling on the web page. The action in YouTube videos or Netflix shows didn’t go smoothly for me, but when I browse the web, my liquidity movements were clearer, which was much more activity than watching YouTube or Netflix on my MacBook. The text remains clearer on the professionals as I scroll down a page. As I move down, in the air, the letters and words are blurred, making it harder to keep reading while scrolling.
And the adaptive part? The promotional display can adjust the refresh rate depending on what is happening on the screen. For example, when things get active and moving – for example, watching a movie or scrolling an article – it has a crank of up to 120Hz. When the situation is more static or the display is idle, it may reduce the refresh rate to 1Hz to save battery life.
My idea of compromise
I guess there’s a reason it’s called a promotion – features exclusive to MacBook Pro. Any MacBook Pro before 2021 has a promotional display. You’ll also find Apple’s promotional display on its other “Pro” devices. iPhone Pro Models has received promotional displays with MacBook Pro since 2021, but Apple introduced the promotional displays through iPad Pro in 2017. On iPad Pro, promotion is very important because it makes movement and scrolling smoother and provides a more natural and responsive feeling for painting, sketching, and writing.
A display with an adaptive refresh rate will make the MacBook Air scroll more smoothly and have longer battery life.
I think from the promotional display, smoother scrolling that MacBook users can appreciate, unlike real parenting features like the super XDR panel you need to create and edit HDR content. Plus, the adaptive part of the promotion will help with battery life, another project that all MacBook users will certainly welcome.
Also, no more MacBooks The longest running laptop I’ve tested it – they’re behind Copilot plus PC based on Qualcomm Snapdragon X Processor – It’s in Apple’s interest to promote or approach the MacBook Air to improve battery life or something close to.
I know adding a feature called “Promotion” to a non-Pro product might surprise Apple’s marketing team a little. So let’s do some reshaping. Call it Airmotion and displays an adaptive refresh rate to the MacBook Air, such as 90Hz. Even better, upgrade to AIRMOTION with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a bump of up to 144Hz. This will keep the professionals in the air superiority, while also helping to strengthen the case where Apple can use the MacBook Pro for gaming.
Finally, various promotional (or AirMotion!) monitors enhance my ability to trade with the larger but thinner and lighter 15-inch MacBook Air in the 14-inch MacBook Pro.
