Space heaters come in a variety of shapes and sizes and use different elements to heat the room. We are here to help you find the best choice for winter.
Space heater price
Most electric space heaters that only operate in this feature (rather than double Air purifier) Prices are under $150, and many models on this list cost less than $100. Several smaller, highly acclaimed budget models may even keep you under $50. The size of the device, other features, number of settings and heating elements all contribute to the overall cost of the space heater.
Space heater size
There is no standard size or shape for electrical heaters, and most of the space heaters I researched don’t have a square footage of specified coverage, except for the reference to their ability to heat “small and medium” spaces or specify room types (such as bedrooms or offices). Space heaters may be represented as desktop, floor or bathroom models, and many may also be high but narrow “tower” models that may or may not oscillate, with smaller footprints and therefore less horizontal space requirements.
Types of space heaters
While this list consists of only electric space heaters (as opposed to the water-heated model), there are several different mechanisms that can leverage electric space heaters to generate heated air.
fan: The space heater of the fan benefits drives the heated air through the exhaust vents of the device by pulling air into the device and transferring it to the heating element, usually a metal coil.
Infrared: Infrared light bulbs are light bulbs that convert electricity into radiant heat. This is the least common type of space heaters we include here, but equally effective.
Ceramic products: Ceramic space heaters use electricity to heat ceramic plates within the device and then emit radiant heat into the air with or without a fan.
