In Saturday’s press release, Alexander Police Department (APD) confirmed Aber’s death, reporting that it received a call about “the unresponsive woman” around 9:18 a.m. Saturday.
“According to the agreement, an investigation is under investigation into his death,” APD said in a statement. “The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia will determine the cause and mode of the death.”

“She is an unparalleled leader, mentor and prosecutor, and as a human being, she is simply irreplaceable,” Sibert said. “We are in awe of her accomplishments in this world for too short time. Her professionalism, grace and legal acumen set the standard.”
“Everyone in the Eastern District of Virginia will take her example as an example and work to meet that standard,” the attorney said.
“Jesse is a proud Virginian from high school to college and throughout her career,” Sebert said. “She loves Edva, and Edva loves her return. We are still committed to her life’s work, and it’s the promise of justice she wants.”
