Former teen idol Shaun Cassidy will be on his first major tour in 45 years.

During an interview People Magazine, Cassidy revealed that he had been mastering guitar skills and releasing his hits when he was about to get on the road again.
“Literally, I had to take guitar classes. I haven’t played guitar in a long time,” he said. “I had to re-learn songs I wrote. I don’t know how to play them.”
Cassidy told the media on the upcoming tour that he is taking a new challenge of playing bass instead of guitar. He also shared His old songs After his ten years, there was a strange feeling in his performance.
“Because I haven’t sang for 40 years, they’re not dead to me. They feel very new, and I’m just singing songs that I really like really, now it’s a good fit for me to sing,” Cassidy said. “I can sing better than singing when I’m 20 because I haven’t sang. I think I haven’t burned the sound in 40 years.”
Cassidy’s 50-city “Tour to the United States” is the longest of his career, starting on September 13 at Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. The singer told people that the tour will span his entire career, including classic songs, new music and personal stories.

The list will include Cassidy’s cover Da Doo Ron Ron, which was originally a 1963 song from 1963’s The Girl Group The Crystals. “Da Doo Ron Ron” is the first single released by Cassidy’s debut album of the same name in 1977. The song became Cassidy’s first major hit, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and helped him win one Grammy Awards Nominated for Best New Artist.
But, Cassidy told people that “Da Doo Ron Ron” was not his choice to launch a single that he chose to start his music career.

“I love this song. It’s my idea to record it,” Cassidy said.
“But this isn’t the first single I want to be the album,” he continued. “I didn’t vote, I guess they were right. It’s number one. It’s a big record, but probably three or four songs I like or choose. By the way, that’s the case with every record I create.”

Even though in one Show business family, Cassidy admits he never really felt the focus of candidness during his teenage heartbeat.
“I never like to be a public figure. I don’t like all the attention. I’m basically an introvert. I really don’t like to be famous.” “But the only thing that’s more ridiculous than being famous is that you were famous before, because you’re still famous, but a lot of people don’t necessarily know why anymore.

“For years, I thought, I don’t want to [tour] Because I just want to copy some version of myself at 20, I always thought it would be awkward, why try it? ” said Cassidy.
“But I found out, the audience told me that I didn’t need to do that because I actually had all the other cards to play with,” he added. “Now I’m a storyteller.”

By the mid-1990s, Cassidy had almost completely moved behind the scenes of Hollywood. Over the past few decades, he has served as a television writer and producer, launching including “American Gothic”, “Roar” and “New Amsterdam.”
Cassidy admitted in talking to people that his career trajectory was unusual.

“It’s a weird resume,” he said. “I don’t know anyone else who plays the Houston astronomy stage for 55,000 people and says, ‘Good night and see you as soon as possible and then show up for another 40 years, but that’s what I do.”
“I think I’m the lucky one in the world,” Cassidy added.
