I woke up Tuesday like many of us, and it was horrible news about the ceasefire collapse. The same ceasefire made my return. Yesterday was also my 32nd birthday – my 31-year-old was imprisoned. I only have one wish for my birthday: all my siblings come home from being imprisoned. I was lucky to be released two months ago, but the other hostages remained and suffered. It’s been 530 days, too many. Only one deal can bring them all home- we need an agreement now.
I was born on kibbutz kfar azaa small community that everyone knows. This is where neighbors become families. On October 7, 2023, the family was broken when I kidnapped guns from under my bed and dragged into Gaza. For 471 days, I have been in underground tunnels, enduring trauma and cannot fully recall or express.
When I was finally released, I stood out from the darkness just the day before President Trump’s inauguration. I am still alive today because of the unremitting efforts of many people, and because of President Trump’s commitment to bringing hostages home. I will never be grateful for this.
Recently, I had a meaningful opportunity to meet with President Trump. As I share my story, he listens intently and emphasizes the importance of taking all the remaining hostages home. At our meeting, I specifically introduced him to Gali and Ziv Berman, the last two hostages of Kfar Aza – my former neighbor was imprisoned.
Hamas hostage father: Let Trump reach a deal this century

Gali lives directly across from me, Ziv is on the way. We live in Kibbutz’s “Young Generation” community, a small garden lined with bungalows that we are 37 years old in our twenties and thirties.
The story of the younger generation community of Kfar Aza tells the devastating story of October 7. Of the 37 residents, 11 were murdered and seven were kidnapped on the same day. Today, more than 520 days later, the 27-year-old twins Gali and Ziv are the only two who are still imprisoned. In Kibbutz, a special bond is approaching. You don’t have to be someone’s closest friend to be responsible for them – they are part of your community, part of your large family.
It was very difficult when I shared my story. The weight of these 470 days is pressed down on me according to each word. But I speak because I understand the urgent need to convey life in captivity. I know for myself that Gali, Ziv and 57 other hostages who are still in Gaza are at every moment of the day. Every outdated hour amplifies their pain.
I can’t forget those who stayed. I keep carrying their faces, their names and knowledge of pain. When I walk freely now, they still remain in the tunnel where I am imprisoned – places of darkness, fear and despair that most people cannot begin to understand.
When I meet President TrumpI’m not alone – I’m with five other recently posted hostages. We flew to DC together and abandoned the family we had longed for after so many days of forced separation. Some of us have only one week left for the Hamas Tunnel, but we understand the importance of storytelling and the stories left behind.

For President Trump, his kindness at the meeting touched me deeply: Thank you for your listening, understanding and your commitment to us and all other hostages. Your government has proven its determination to bring many of us home. I urge you to use your great influence and power to ensure the release of all remaining hostages – existing lives must return to begin the complex process of recovery; the dead must return their bodies to their families for proper burial according to our tradition.
The remaining 59 hostages It means that 59 families are trapped in endless nightmare, with 59 families with huge wounds that cannot heal until their loved ones return. These people are violently from home, workplace, music festival or when defending their country. Among them is the father, whose young children have been anxiously waiting for them to see them again, their futures are detained indefinitely, and soldiers answered the call of duty on October 7.

As someone who comes out of hell, I witnessed reality and begged those who have the ability to act. President Trump has shown that progress is possible. Now we need to finish my release and take everyone home – Gali, Ziv and everyone else.
I survived. I’ll go home. Now, I fight for those who can’t fight for myself, because my Kibbutz family is still in Gaza, because all the hostages still trapped in those tunnels, suffered hunger and abuse. We can’t rest until each hostage returns home. The day when I really restore my freedom will be the day when all the remaining 59 hostages return to us.

Until then, no matter how painful it was, I would continue to share my stories and carry their voices with me. Mr. President, please help us get them out of hell.
