The STX Trim bottom slot near the bottom behind Lightning Professionals offers a range and upgrade to the XLT’s power. The new dual-electric system holds 775 lb-ft of torque on the XLT’s 452 horsepower while maintaining 536 horsepower. The range will rise significantly to 290 miles, while the current model will increase to 240 miles.
There are also cosmetic changes for those who want their pickups to look solid. The STX trim adds new off-road wheels, all-terrain tires and running boards borrowed from the F-150 tremor. It features new grille, optional black vinyl flooring, blue accent lines and STX badges including on the seats. In addition to the regular paint options, it will be available in two new colors: Argon Blue and Swamp Grey.
According to internal sales forecasts, Ford expects the F-150 Lightning STX to be its best-seller next year. “Customers have been asking for a F-150 Lightning that is higher than the standard range XLT,” Marketing Manager Will Marchand said in a press release. “Until now, if these owners want a solid F-150 Lightning, they have to turn to the aftermarket to build the truck they want.” The new model will appear at a Ford dealership early next year, starting at $63,345, excluding destination fees.
