A Florida woman and her puppy are recovering after suffering a painful crocodile attack.
It happened earlier this month in Paso County Fox 13 Tampa Bay Report. Danie Wright told local TV stations that she was strolling behind her little, 4-month-old puppy when she was attacked by wildlife.
Wright said her family has lived at the site for about 20 years and has never seen a crocodile before.
“So, I brought him back here, I rarely do that,” she said. “He was pulling and everything, but I just heard the screams and I pulled.”

Wright said she and the dog were only a few feet away from the creek when algae and debris covered the surface, providing cover for the lurking crocodile.
She said: “Once he walked into the stream, I walked into the stream and realized, ‘Oh God, this is a crocodile’.”

She believes that the crocodile grabbed the dog’s Airtag collar.
“It seems like he brought him to his throat,” she said. “Literally, I think it just pierced his throat and probably killed him.”

Wright used his free arms to tear the five-pound puppy off the crocodile’s chin and threw him onto the steep river bank.
“But my left arm is in the crocodile,” she said, realizing that she had to fight for her life.

“I asked him to flip his left arm in his mouth, I punched him a few times and I think I do like the elbow and like here, he just relaxed his grip so much that I could pull it out.”
Wright called 911 for help, including the catcher who caught the crocodile.
“Put down the phone,” she said. “I’m on the phone, standing here, facing him another way, there’s a stream behind me.”
