Jacqueline Whitmore, a Florida-based etiquette expert and former pilot, said it would be better to maintain some ability on the plane.

To keep it comfortable while maintaining hygiene, Whitmore recommends wearing a pair of clean socks, using slippers or wearing more comfortable shoes.
