Fettman and other Democrats – including Senate Minority Leaders Chuck Schumer – Last week’s vote was passed to overcome procedural barriers, which cleared the way for the Chamber of Commerce to vote on government funding measures to avoid partial government shutdowns.
But after that end of the market vote, Fettman, Schumer and most other Democrats voted against the passage of actual financing measures, which eventually passed anyway.
Ocasio-Cortez urged senators to vote against the measure.
