Officials said police are investigating a deadly car wreck near Los Angeles International Airport after a drunk driving suspect fled police and crashed and killed passengers.
Police spokesman David Cuellar said Los Angeles police tried to drive through the alleged DUI around 1:30 near Hoover Street, while Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was next to the BMO Stadium, but the vehicle quickly got out.
Cuellar said the driver headed to Los Angeles International Airport, ran into another vehicle from Sepulveda and Century Boulevards, and then fled the scene. The officer caught the driver and took them into custody.
Police found an injured passenger in the vehicle during the crash. Medical staff announced on the scene that they were dead. The driver of the vehicle hit was taken to the hospital, Kurera said.
