Secretary of Hudder Scott Turner Announced on Saturday that “faith returns to our government”, hundreds of people gathered at the National Mall to participate in the agency’s first ever faith-based disaster recovery campaign.

“The destructiveness can be overwhelming after the disaster. I met people affected, heard their stories, and witnessed the destruction firsthand,” Turner, also associate pastor, told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement.
“In these moments, faith-based organizations are often the first to respond. I’ve witnessed their incredible restoration efforts: built houses, chapels become emergency centers, and small businesses reopened with the support of local churches. President Trumpfaith returns to our government. ”

“These [faith-based] Organizations not only fill the gaps. They are calling new lives to destructive communities, and the role of HUD is to strengthen their efforts by restoring the resources and support needed. Secretary Turner concluded.
The event started at the National Mall on September 6 at 6:00 pm in intense rainfall. It features worship led by Sean Feucht, featuring speeches from faith leaders across the country.
For Feucht, the night represents a dramatic twist. He stood in Washington at the formal invitation of HUD after clashing with a left-leaning government with a city like Seattle.
Despite protests, Christian worship rally remains peaceful

“God bless the United States! Last month in Canada, Mark Carney’s administration did everything possible to stop us from worshiping Jesus… Pulling permissions and blocking the parks, but in the United States, the Trump administration rolled the red carpet to Christians in the United States and gave us the opportunity to bring worship to the hearts of the capital! God is good!!!” Feucht said in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital.
Feucht launched his Let’s Worship campaign in 2020 during Covid Lockdowns to protest restrictions on church gatherings. The movement gained appeal across the country but faced repeated rebounds.
Canadian cities revoked their licenses in August 2025. Seattle activists called “malicious harassment and incitement” incidents against the LGBTQ community.

In 2020, Seattle’s closed gas engineering park sparked discrimination against believers ahead of scheduled rally. Violence broke out again at a Seattle rally in May, leading to arrest.
Saturday’s event tells a different story. HUD places churches and faith-based responders at the center of their disaster recovery strategies, seeing them as partners rather than outsiders.
Speakers include Shayam Menon of the HUD Center for Faith, Dave Donaldson The White House Office of Faith, Rev. Matthew Barnett of the Dream Center, Scottie Stice of Southern Baptist Church, Luther Harrison of Samaritan Wallet and Rev. Nathan Newman of North American Mission.
“The night with Sean Feucht and Hud’s secretary Scott Turner,” wrote X @brag_dc. “Jesus is the star!”
Turner made a statement before Feucht ended with the final words of worship and pastor Lorenzo Sewell. The National Mall is a stage of protests and cultural events, and he hosts worships in direct contact with federal leaders.
For Turner, the display box places the church at the church he thinks he belongs, which is the front end of the national rehabilitation work. For Feucht, it marked his transition from a congregation of believers to a congregation of federally recognized.
Rain and thunderstorms swept Washington on Saturday, but believers remained. Feucht then posted on social media that the night was “historic in all respects”.

The event is closely linked to HUD’s partnership with America 250 initiative to mark the country’s upcoming 250 birthday. Both Turner and Feucht use historic activities to convey the same message: Faith is not only alive, but is also welcomed at the center of public life in the United States.
The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
