He wrote on X: “I feel disgusted and sad about my town (Madison) and my state (New Jersey). This is wrong on many levels… because the American husband and father were assassinated for the right to express freedom of expression.”
Mangold tagged New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and two gubernatorial candidates who succeeded Murphy, state Rep. Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli.

Officials in Bergen County, New Jersey, also came under fire for keeping their flag on all employees, but explained why in a Facebook post.
“Today, we received questions about lowering the U.S. flag in the county-owned facilities,” the county said Saturday. “Bergen County’s policy is to follow the New Jersey daily flag status and can be found here. Today’s identity is ‘all staff.'”
Kirk was shot dead while speaking to college students Orem, Utah. His wife and two children survived.
