McCaffe continued: “I learned from Canadians that they are much more passionate about their country than I thought. I understand this many terrible words about me.”
“I’m not saying Canadians are bad. I say your country is. You boo us. I say you’re bad. Let’s shake hands and keep going. I still love Canadians…I hope it’s settled.”
During the U.S. National Anthem, the booing of Canadian fans began amid President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canadian goods. The president stopped in February, but started this week.
