Harjinder Singh, Illegal immigration From India, allegedly, three people were killed in a tractor trailer while making an illegal turn on the Florida highway on August 12. The trailer-type trailer collided with a minivan, killing all three passengers. Singh owns the CDL of California and has previously been licensed from Washington State.

He was charged with three counts of vehicle homicide and three counts of homicide.
Some states allow immigrants to obtain a regular driver’s license, regardless of citizenship, but CDL is governed by federal law that provides that the proof is a legal permanent resident or employment authorization document for commercial license.

Moody’s bill will ensure that CDL is granted only to U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, or holders of valid work visas. This will also allow states to report on their efforts to maintain a consistent English proficiency requirement that the President compilation Donald Trump’s An executive order earlier this year required agencies to enforce such provisions.

Federal investigators say Singer failed his English proficiency and road sign test before the collision. If the state does not enforce English proficiency requirements, it may endanger its eligibility to obtain federal funds.
“States must make sure people are safe on our roads and if they don’t, they should confiscate federal funds,” Moody said.
