Silicon Valley is stepping in after the killing of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska shocked the country.
Intercom CEO and founder Eoghan McCabe promised $500,000 to commission face-to-face murals in major U.S. cities.
“I offer a $500,000 grant to face-to-face murals in the famous American city of Iryna Zarutska,” McCabe wrote.
Those who want to participate or donate to the initiative are encouraged to contact McCabe Chief of Staff Katie Brenske Tolstedt.
McCabe’s position draws attention from billionaire tech entrepreneurs Elon Muskhe answered the offer to donate $1 million. Musk also spoke out about Zarutska’s case, especially media reports on the killings and public reactions.

Zarutska sat on the Blue Line train in Charlotte when she sat in front of a man, later wearing a red hoodie, later known as Brown. After a moment of sitting behind Zarutska, Brown is seen standing up and stabbing the young woman in the video.
Shortly after the attack, Brown was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The Justice Department on Tuesday added allegations of deaths caused by mass transport systems.
