Since the first day of the Trump administration Elon Musk’s The so-called Ministry of Government Efficiency (Doge) is everywhere in the federal government, act quickly and destroy things. In a few weeks, Dore’s agents were distributed in dozens of Government agencies When they try termination Thousands of federal employees. With so much going on with Doge, Wired wants to do anything to see where they are from and which might tell us how they think about reshaping the federal government.
The biggest gain: Many of the Governor’s team come from Musk’s world. If Musk is the CEO of the United States, then Doge has become his Silicon Valley Administrative department.
We have drawn up a non-displacement list of people related to Doge, including creating searchable forms with each member, their company history, and institutions related to them. Readers can check it out and click it below. We plan to keep updating this matter as we find more Doge operators or known branches moving to new ones.
We focus on new people brought in under the second Trump administration, or institutions that directly hire special government employees (SGEs) or regular employees who are members of the Doge team. This is a bit tricky because there is two Dodes created under the president’s executive order. Doge Service (USD) in the United States, formerly the United States Digital Service, is a permanent organization. Then there is the temporary USDS organization, which will end on July 4, 2026, and can hire SGES.
Here’s what we learned:
Frankly speaking, the Governor’s world seems to be divided into about three categories: former Trump officials, conservative lawyers and imports from the Silicon Valley area (funders, founders, technicians or people with connections). In the first category, we found someone like Doge spokesman Katie Miller, the wife of White House Vice President Stephen Miller. They both have Musk’s Wizard DC.
The second category is James Burnham and Austin Raynor, the likes of conservative Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas. Jacob Altik is another Conservative attorney who has been selected as a clerk for Gorsuch on the Governor’s squad. Jeremy Lewin Representative Tesla.
Then, the biggest crossover: Among those Silicon Valley imports, one of the clearest themes in the Doch team is quite obvious: the connection to Elon Musk. The 49 people on our list have connections with Musk, his company or his larger network. This connection is usually through one of his allies or one of his companies. The obvious people like Steve Davis, president of Musk’s Boring Company, have followed Musk across his various adventures. (Davis previously worked at SpaceX and assisted Musk with X (formerly Twitter’s X overhaul).) Davis was the first to be the Governor’s recruitment before inauguration day and continues to play a key role in the organization. Similarly, Brian Bjelde, a SpaceX employee now in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), helped Musk cut back on Twitter in 2022.
There are many people Young engineer Wired first identified who acquired keys to different government agencies, such as Marko Elez, Luke Farritor and Edward Coristine, who are interns or employees of one of Musk’s companies: SpaceX, Tesla, Tesla, Xai, X and Neuralink. (Musk has been involved in others, but these are controlled by him.)
