Earlier in the day, Nexstar Media Group announced it would seize “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its ABC branch.
“Mr. Kimmel’s comments on Mr. Kirk’s death are offensive and insensitive at a critical moment in our national political discourse, and we do not think they reflect the views, opinions or values of our local communities,” Nexstar broadcast chief Andrew Alford said in a press release.
“Continuing to provide Mr. Kimmel with a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is not in the public interest at all, and we have made the difficult decisions to get ahead of his performances to get our minds prevailing as we prevail in moving towards a respectful, constructive conversation.”
