The Ministry of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announces $51 million cuts African Development Foundationwhich includes hundreds of thousands of dollars to market shea butter and pineapple juice, as well as a mango drying facility.
Doge announced the news on X, highlighting several initiatives that the money has been invested.
For example, $229,296 is used to sell 100% organic shea butter in Brkina Faso; $246,217 is used to dry the mango facilities on the Ivory Coast; $239,738 is used to market pineapple juice in Benin.
The department also said it spent $99,566 to increase yogurt production in Uganda. $84,059 for business incubators for spa and health entrepreneurs in Nigeria; $50,000 spent on training farmers on how to grow dragon fruit in Senegal; $48,406 for WhatsApp marketing chatbots in Kenya.

The cancelled funds also include $10 million for “Gender Rights in Mexican Workplaces,” $12.2 million for “Worker Empowerment in South America,” and $6.25 million to “improve respect for agricultural supply chains by workers in Honduras, Guatemala and El El Salvador countries.”
The ministry cancels countless diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives for federal agencies, consulting contracts, leases of underutilized federal buildings, and duplicate agencies and programs.

As of Monday, Doge claimed on its website that it had saved Americans $140 billion, about $870 per taxpayer.
