The California Automobile Department will open some offices one hour early this spring to help people who haven’t obtained their actual ID by the May deadline.
On May 7, people boarding a flight or entering a secured federal government (such as a court) must have a real ID card or other passport Approved federal documents.
Starting Monday, 18 DMV offices will be open from Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday until June 27. This extra time is reserved only for those who have dates to get a real ID card.
