As a Republican leader likes Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis lined up under President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration, and Democrats showed their cracks – a division between those who dig out the ice to collaborate and other urging more pragmatic approaches.
The biggest voice of the party remains firmly opposed. Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker repeatedly clashed with Trump over immigration attacks in his state, while Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner vowed his city would not cooperate.
“We have an authoritarian president who is a criminal.” Krasner says Earlier this year, there was a stance on sanctuary cities’ opposition to working with ICE.
Democrats were re-elected in November, adding: “The federal government can’t command state law enforcement and let them do the Nazi things” – and Pritzker directly fought Trump Work hard Illinois immigration and law enforcement actions.

In Pennsylvania, state Rep. Abigail Salisbury took it a step further and announced a bill at the Democratic majority state capitol that largely prohibits Pennsylvania police from working with the ICE.

“But, policies do not have legal force and can change over time. As the danger is at stake, it is important for us to compile existing policies into.”
On the other side of the country, Rep. Gabe Vasquez sounded more reconciled tone of immigration reform and told the news: As a member of Congress in the New Mexico border area, the issue is very close to home.
When asked if the Democrats were ready to “accept the enforcement aspects of immigration policy,” Vasquez said the party was ready to come to the table.
“The Democrats are ready, and as border Democrats they have 180 miles United States-Mexico border…I am Mexican-American – [I understand] Complexity between both sides. ” he said.

He said he still objected to some Trump’s “massive eviction” Action against immigrants working in restaurants and work sites – calling such raids “harsh”.
