Shooting Las Cruces, New MexicoAccording to the Las Cruces Police Facebook page, three people remained dead and 14 were injured. Authorities said two of the deceased were only 19 years old and one was 16 years old, while the injured were between 16 and 36 years old.

The shooting occurred Friday at 10:00 PM at City Park. Police were not arrestedbut said they are “actively following multiple potential customers”.

“As with all gun violence in our city and beyond, the victims and affected families have hurt my heart. It is an outrageous act of violence that will mourn our city,” Bencomo wrote. “The next few days will be heavy and confusing, but we must focus on supporting people and their families who directly affect them.”
Bencomo also urged the public to avoid spreading false information and rumors, suggesting that they “do it thoughtfully in shared or repeated content.”
