In 1947, the U.S. Department of War became Ministry of National Defensewhen our country entered forty years of the Cold War with the Soviet Union and replaced the global superpower.
On Friday, President Donald Trump Signed an executive order Bring back the original name A department established by George Washington in 1789. It brings this change, which will receive abundant approval from our first president.
Trump signs order to name the Pentagon “Ministry of War”
In the 78 years when the United States had a “Defense Department”, we never declared war once, but that did not stop thousands of American soldiers from sacrificing their lives in South Korea, Vietnam and later the Middle East.
During this period, the United States was widely known as the world police. Without really declaring a war, we have a violent game around the world, with our Defense Department dipping its toes into conflicts across the continent.

Our soldiers often have the role of not killing the enemy, but maintaining order, just as the police force is not subject to full force against criminals, our army is usually not allowed to bring all its force to endure.
There are fundamental and important differences between war and policing. You can win a war, but you can’t. Police is an endless struggle, and this is the military intervention under the U.S. Department of Defense.
“I want to attack, too,” Trump quipped at the name change. But what he really means is that he wants a war we can win, rather than an endless country-building idiot, aiming to balance the world of fire from Ukraine to Gaza.
Minister of War is now known to Pete Hegseth, who made it clear that his priority was lethality, not just the stick used by diplomats. He wanted an army, not a police force.
Carl von Clausewitz, the father of modern warfare in the early 19th century, defined military victory as forcing the enemy to fulfill your will by destroying their desires and means of resistance. This is something our military hasn’t done for a while.
But that may be changing.
This cabinet-level name change is no accident after the Trump administration blew up smugglers loaded with drugs and drugs on alleged speedboats.
Under the old title, the ship may have stopped, and its crew gave Miranda rights. In other words, it will be regulated.

Similarly, Trump’s direct attack on Iran’s nuclear facility sent a new message to Ayatollah that if he goes too far we will destroy him and his country.

It is a noble idea that the Ministry of Defense is willing to rest in peace. It was initiated in the spirit of ending the war, not winning it. Its purpose is to support the democratic countries around the earth until all countries have found the right and just path to freedom and capitalism.
It might be worth it, but it just doesn’t work, which is why the Trump administration returns to the original premise that the military does not exist to protect and serve the world, but to exist to kill our enemies.
Shortly after the President of Washington established the war department, he would say goodbye to the address, warning not to engage in foreign entanglement, but in the name of the Department of Defense, our military seems to have little else to do.
President Trump has sent the message that the United States will no longer defend itself through half the proportion and a never-ending peace mission. No, from here on, the Ministry of War does not exist in the case of containing or limiting our enemies, its existence, it should destroy them.
