D-ID acquires Berlin-based video startup Simpleshow | TechCrunch

Video generation and editing platform D-ID said on Tuesday it has acquired Berlin-based B2B video creation platform SimpleShow. The two companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

D-ID CEO Gil Perry told TechCrunch that SimpleShow’s products will run under the D-ID umbrella and will eventually merge the two platforms.

SimpleShow was founded in 2008 and has raised more than $20 million in funding, according to Crunchbase data.

The startup has offices in Berlin, Luxembourg, London, Miami, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. As part of the merger, the company will merge its offices in Berlin, Tel Aviv and the United States. D-ID did not mention SimpleShow’s team size, but said the merged entity would have 140 employees.

“SimpleShow initially looked at us for strategic partnerships.
