Country singer Lee Brice honors Charlie Kirk, says he ‘had a heart of God’

During a performance in Clearwater, Florida on September 11, the country music star gave his song “When Kingdom Comes Kirk” and told the crowd that while he usually plays a different song at that time of the show, he wanted to do something for Kirk and for “he’s so determined to stick with it.”

Brice explained why he chose to honor Kirk in his own way in a recent appearance on the Will Cain Show.

“The most special song I have ever written and the Charlie I know represents his faith,” he said. “In fact, even in all these debates and everything, he has received so much respect that even with college students, he knows that he always takes the attitude of Jesus.”

“So I said, you know? I’m going to do this song, and I…only survive a few times in a random moment when I just feel the spiritual lead, and that’s what I want to do.

“I happen to be that I kind of got people around to shoot the content, so, I’m glad they were there, but that’s not anything. It’s just the moment that needs to happen, and I feel like that song is that song, if Charlie is here, he would want to hear that song. He would love it and understand what it means.”

Talking about Potential rebound Brice admits from his tribute: “You don’t want to alienate people because you love everyone.” But “there are zero fears or thoughts about it.

“I have a lot of my buddies and they don’t say real sweetness. You know, we sting each other, that kind of thing. But they sent me these sincere messages, ‘Man, you know, you know, what you did that night, I just want to praise you because I know you might lose fans or whatever.”

“I think, you know, for me, if I did anything there, I say to you the point where you don’t like me, or you don’t want to be on my show, I don’t care if you’re in my show.

Brice continued to comment on Kirk’s heroism, noting that he sat 10 feet in front of college students every day, and did “very important” work and was “special”.

The “Difficult Love” singer is not the only musician to pay tribute to Kirk. Country singer Gavin Adcock yelled in a song as he raised the American flag at a concert in Missouri on September 11.

“Jesus loves everyone of you tonight. Charlie Kirk is with Jesus. I hope you say some thoughts and prayers tonight before you go to bed. When you lie down to sleep yourself, you or your loved ones lie down, pray for those who need it. I hope you all.
